A smidge happier in 2020

Would you like to be a smidge happier in 2020?

Is increasing your level of happiness something you’d like to achieve in 2020?

I know it is for me!

Now don’t get me wrong I’m a happy person by nature (just ask any of my friends, I can be annoyingly positive), but that doesn’t mean that I’m completely satisfied with my lot!! I say “there’s always room for improvement”.

I’ve been on my own little quest for happiness for a while now and along the way I’ve found things that work for me and things that don’t. My quest has certainly been run on a trial and error basis.

So, in the Spirit of connection (Connect being my word for 2020) I don’t think I should keep these all to myself, so I’ll be sharing some of them with you during 2020 to hopefully help you be a Smidge happier this year!

I usually start January off with reflecting on these 3 questions:

1. What would I like to do less of this year?

2. What would I like to do more of this year?

3. What are some new things I can try?

For each of the questions I take the 3 top answers, the ones that seem the most doable or important to me and I write down how I might achieve these and also what might get in my way.

It’s a simple process, but it gives me a starting point for the year.

So, once you have decided on what you want to get rid of, what you want to achieve and some nice things to try you can then:

· Enter the steps into your calendar

· Make a list and place it somewhere visible as a reminder

· Create a Vision Board from photos, pictures, words or sayings that represent what you want to achieve this year.

Have fun with the process and remember it’s progress not perfection that we're aiming for!

Until next time!

Tracy
